What is a Seed Network?

A Seed Network is a frame
work for the interorganizational management of the region’s seed resources and seed bank.  Through cooperative efforts, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Seed Network aims to enhance conservation throughout the region by bringing together local, state, and federal RHCO_MARSB666_PrimeHookWA_September25_2agencies, universities, and non-governmental conservation organizations. These organizations will pool their expertise to address scientific and technical issues to support the development of seed transfer guidelines and plant materials.  Through the establishment of an online ‘project registry’ connecting land managers and conservationists with native plant material producers, the network seeks to expand the supply of locally derived seed for regional restoration and conservation efforts.
