Seed Keeper

The Mid-Atlantic's native seed supply depends on one organization. Make sure it survives.

What Seed Keepers Fund

MARSB is the only organization building a genetically verified, chain-of-custody seed supply for native plant restoration across the Mid-Atlantic. From collection to cleaning to long-term banking, MARSB guarantees the genetic integrity and regional provenance that restoration depends on.

Your membership directly supports this core infrastructure: field collection across seven mapped states, professional seed cleaning and quality testing, long-term banking at verified facilities, and the technical assistance that gets the right seed to the right project.

This is the chain of custody — and without it, there is no reliable native seed supply in this region.

Why It Matters Now

Federal funding that supported this work has been cancelled or is at risk. The supply chain is, in the words of federal researchers, "significantly underdeveloped and largely informal." MARSB is building the formal one. The Seed Keeper program is how we keep going.
